This medium to fast growing shrub is used for formal or informal borders, low hedging, topiary and understorey planting. It's quick growing and will establish in 1 to 2 years and may be used in containers or flanking the garden path to help define the edging.

Soil - Well drained fertile sandy to light clay with reliable moisture.
Containers - Good in pots, tubs & troughs.
Aspect - Full sun to semi shade & is frost tolerant.
Climate - Cool to cool temperate.
Flowers & Fruit
Flowers occur in upper leaf axil during spring and the male flowers cluster around the females.
The fruit is a globular capsule containing six black seeds. It is small and not normally seen and reproduces vegetatively.

'Marginata' Golden Box
The leaves have a yellow margin and it is slow growing.
'Argenteo' Silver Box Variegata

This plant has a very compact habit and a slow growth rate. The leaf is elliptical to ovate and the apex is emarginate (notched). Turning yellowish-brown during winter.
