Agapanthus orientalis From Greek agape, “love”, + anthos, “flower”; “orientalis” meaning “from the east”.

This perennial grows in clumps with green strap like leaves and blue or white funnel-shaped flowers in heads that are borne on tall stems. It is a strong rooted plant tolerating most situations and is an excellent border specimen.

Soil - Well drained, tolerates most types even dry.
Containers - Low pots or troughs preferred.
Aspect - Full sun to shade, frost & drought tolerant.
Climate - Cool temperate.
Flowers & Fruit Flowers are vivid and long lasting; the colour is either blue or white from November to December.

The fruit is a papery capsule with flat black seeds. Seed can self sow and become a bush weed from Jan to Feb.
