This perennial grows in clumps with green strap like leaves and blue or white funnel-shaped flowers in heads that are borne on tall stems. It is a strong rooted plant tolerating most situations and is an excellent border specimen. The fruit is a papery capsule with flat black seeds. Seed can self sow and become a bush weed from Jan to Feb.
Buxus sempervirens 'suffruticosa' This medium to fast growing shrub is used for formal or informal borders, low hedging, topiary and understorey planting. It's quick growing and will establish in 1 to 2 years and may be used in containers or flanking the garden path to help define the edging.
Ophiopogon japonicus - This rhizomatous plant forms a tufted clump habit and looks grass-like. The dark green leaves are long linear and the flowers are mauve. It forms a soft dense mat and is an excellent border plant and ground cover.
This dwarf variety of the popular Murraya paniculata works as a smaller hedge or border plant. The variety retains it's sweet small fragrant white flowers & tough nature but stays low in height.
